ALMERIA VENUE REVIEWS
‘The Huzur Vadisi crew have struck gold again with their fabulous finca near Almeria, Spain. It was only about forty minutes’ drive from the airport, in a rural setting but still a shortish walk to the nearby village. The main house provided everything we needed and more. It’s a dramatic building, which manages to feel grand, homely, funky and bohemian all at the same time! The rooms both in the main house and the nearby apartments are a very generous size, perfect for sharing as well as for singles. There was a lovely big yoga shala with all the equipment, the usual delicious and abundant food we have come to expect from Huzur Vadisi and two pools. All in all, it made for a super house-party atmosphere combined with a Yoga retreat. I’m looking forward to bringing my group again next year. ‘

I loved my week in Almeria everything about the retreat was fabulous, the Yoga – Liz’s yoga was amazing as always!, Tina looked after our every need always a smile on her face. The Finca was a delight, and the food was utterly wonderful. We were looked after so well from the minute we arrived, the transfers and excursions went ahead smoothly, I could easily have stayed a month! I will definitely be back again…. I promise!

A big thank you for such a wonderful time last week. I felt that you really looked after us so well. Astrid and the crew were fantastic too. I had great feedback from all who came. What a super week. Looking forward to next year!

‘Such a wonderful week in the finca, with the house providing a comfortable grandness together with a homely vibe, hard to come by in a yoga venue, making it somewhere very special. The easy space and flow of the grounds and yoga shala lends itself to relaxation and well-being. The natural pool has the softest of water and the food is excellent. It’s location to the airport, beaches and walking distance to the local village all add to the sense of ease and let go.
While Jane’s care and attention to details allows the perfect holding for teachers to attend to deep practice and the sharing of yoga with a group and for all to feel extremely well looked after.
I can highly recommend Finca del Alamo to teachers and students alike. Delighted to be going back next year and for many years to come I hope.’

‘I had an absolutely fantastic time in Almeria. Lara is quite simply a phenomenal teacher and incredibly dedicated to her “yoginis”. I certainly went on a journey with her and emerged from the week feeling rejuvenated, transformed and hooked on Scaravelli yoga. The food, accommodation and finca were also gorgeous, could not have been better in any way! Thanks for a wonderful holiday!

‘I had a truly wonderful and restorative time at the Almeria retreat. The food was the best Yoga retreat food I’ve ever had – fantastic, vitamin rich buffets, 3 times a day! The yoga was wonderful, I have been following Lara round the world for 4 years now, her approach is unique – she manages to enable even the stiffest and rustiest of us to reach new levels of self love and physical equilibrium. The location was very special, fed by the waters of a private spring, meaning we swam and drunk and washed in Evian-grade water. The local town of Nijar is sleepy and picturesque and the 20 minute walk to it, through the splendour of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, was a highlight of the trip. Thanks so much for another amazing trip and thanks to all who work at the finca.’
The Finca is a unique, iconic venue for a yoga retreat: the main house and gardens are stunningly beautiful and comfortable, and the cottages, comfortable, well-equipped and quiet, with private terraces for sunbathing, reading and relaxing. If the sunny areas are too hot, then there are plenty of spaces in the cottages, main house and grounds for relaxing on comfy sofas and loungers. The yogashala is a lovely space situated close to the cottages and one of the outdoor pools – it is fully equipped with everything yogis might need for their practice, including mats, bolsters, straps, blocks, bricks, eye masks and blankets.
Most importantly, the staff were all faultlessly personable, friendly and helpful. Jane and Tina made us welcome in so many ways and went over and beyond their job specs to meet our every need. Jess’s vegetarian cooking was superb, and each delicious, plentiful meal provided a photo opportunity and a talking point in the group, as we relished every mouthful.
There was a daily offer of Thai and Remedial Massages, as well as a Craniosacral treatment session. I heard that Dorothe’s Thai massage was brilliant. My own experiences with Liz (cranio-sacral) and Andres were transformative, and added another dimension to my week in addition to Julie Robinson’s typically inspirational yoga sessions. I have nothing but praise for the place, the people and the quality of the whole experience.
‘Stayed at Finca for a yoga retreat in May 2018. A beautiful venue – the main house is comfortable and has a relaxed feel, and the cortijo where I was actually sleeping had comfortable beds and a big en-suite. The yoga space was a good size for our group (17 plus teacher), the food was great and plentiful, and the staff were just lovely. Highly recommended!
I could go on about the fresh water pools, the sunny balcony, the little private spaces to sit and contemplate, the wonderful views, the frogs in the reed beds etc. etc. but I don’t suppose they want an essay! As you can tell, I’m still feeling the joy! ‘
