Several sandy, secluded and unspoiled beaches can be found within approximately 20 minutes drive from the venue, inside one of Spain’s largest National Parks, the Cabo de Gata. The beaches are usually warm enough to be enjoyed from May through to the end of October. There are also several charming coastal villages within the park, which make an idyllic location for a meal out at one of the many restaurants. Groups usually arrange a half-day excursion during the week, which typically includes beach, shopping and dinner out.

A nearby western style town was the set for Sergio Leone’s famous ‘Spaghetti Westerns’ and is open to visitors, which includes staged ‘gun fights’ and Can-can girls in the saloon. As unlikely as it sounds this is actually a lot of fun, especially if you are a film fan!
The pretty, local village of Nijar is within walking distance and offers a variety of craft shops, local specialities include ceramics, rugs and baskets. There is a church and picturesque square with places to sit and have a drink or tapas al fresco.
