Jo is excited to welcome you to this relaxed yoga and pilates holiday at this stunning venue in south eastern Spain. With over 30 years of teaching experience Jo will we able to ensure a suitable practise whatever your level.
Jo feels it is important to adapt the practice to suit your body rather than for all bodies to ‘fit the practice’. It is with this philosophy that we are able to practise intelligently without injuring ourselves, working with and embracing our strengths and weaknesses.
There will be the opportunity to attend up to 3 classes a day, an energising dynamic vinyasa flow yoga which will gradually build throughout the week; culminating in a graceful flowing sequence to nourish the whole body like a ‘yoga dance’. There will also be a more gentle restorative yoga class as well as a pilates class each day to find control, balance and alignment. Jo’s pilates and yoga classes have a flowing style with beautifully choreographed sequences.
You will complete the week with a much deeper understanding of both yoga and pilates practices and a healthy, refreshed mind and body to take home.
Jo has been teaching dance, pilates and yoga for over 30 years. She originally trained as a dancer and a teacher, at the Royal Ballet School; she still performs as a dancer with the Royal Opera at Covent Garden.
She discovered pilates while working as a dancer in the 1980s when it was gaining recognition as a training method for building strength, improving ballet technique and aiding recovery from injury. Jo qualified as as pilates instructor in 1990, gaining her initial and then advanced certification through Body Control Pilates.
Having practised yoga for 12 years Jo began training as a yoga instructor in 2008 with the prestigious Yogacampus; in 2016 she completed 500 hours certification with Julie Martin Brahmani yoga in Goa.
