Yoga with Liz Warrinton

£425

Liz Warrington is inspired by the work of Vanda Scaravelli - best known for her beautiful book Awakening The Spine - Liz has been studying and practising Yoga since 1988 and trained with some of the few fortunate to have worked directly with Vanda. Sharing her passion for the body's ability to undo and the mind's to gain clarity through the practice of yoga, Liz teaches that yoga is more about a state of being than about the poses; that it is to do with the ground beneath our feet, the space around us and the breath. As we take tension out of our bodies, the postures come to us and we experience lightness and well-being. Teaching in Brighton for the last 12 years Liz regularly leads workshops and holidays in Europe and Asia.

Special offer if you book before the 21st April - £510

Come and spend a week in this wonderful space, slowly exploring body and mind, taking time to awaken your physical awareness. Catherine was originally a professional dancer and has been practicing yoga for over 20 years. Catherine is an inspirational teacher, who injects classes with her enthusiasm, joy and energy. Bikram Yoga with Michele Pernetta

£585

Bikram Yoga is a system developed by Bikram Chaudhury, described as ‘the best yogi of the 20th century’ by Swami Shivananda. It is a fun and challenging series of 26 postures, which are normally practiced in a hot room - at Huzur Vadisi the August weather will supply the necessary heat which allows muscles, ligaments and joints to perform at their optimum, and allows deep changes and healing to take place. It also promotes sweating to flush toxins from the body. The class is suitable for all levels from beginners to advanced, as each student works to their own level, and is aided by the famous Bikram ‘posture clinics’ in which students are guided individually to deepen their practice, or to heal particular injuries.

Michele came to Bikram Yoga when, as a martial arts instructor living in Los Angeles, she seriously injured her knee. She was so impressed by her recovery using the method that she went on to study with Bikram Choudhury himself for four years, and has been teaching for nine years. Michele has opened the first three Bikram centres in London.

The two weeks with Michele can be booked separately or consecutively.

An uplifting week of Yoga and Creativity with Kate McKenzie

£424 for shared accommodation
£550 for single accommodation

Kate is returning to Huzur Vadisi after an exceptional week workshop she and Sue Pendlebury led last year.

This time, the morning sessions are based on The Kundalini Yoga Aquarian Sadhana (as taught by Yogi Bhajan). This includes meditation, pranayama, warm ups, a kriya (exercises that relate to a specific theme) and concludes with an hour of glorious chanting!

The late afternoon workshops explore our innate talents and creativity through the spectrum of the chakras. Each day we focus on one or two of the major chakras through movement, kriya, voice and group singing. As we develop our awareness and connect with our breath, body and true sound we create the environment for greater well being and inspiration.

Kate has been a performer, singer and yoga practitioner all her adult life. She has studied voice, Kundalini and Sivananda yoga and her personal practice is informed by an eclectic mix of traditions which aim to build fluidity, awareness and creativity in everyday life.

During this week, she hopes to share the joyful and incredibly healing combination of yoga and sound.

Yoga with Julie Stannard

£435

This week will not only be a wonderful opportunity to explore and deepen your yoga practice but also to relax and let go of the tensions of your everyday life.

Julie’s inspiration to teach is to share the joy and healing that arises from yoga practice. Emphasis will be given to the individual’s needs and the relationship between the body and the breath, leading to a greater self-awareness and acceptance.

Julie believes in making yoga accessible to all levels, but at the same time giving the right level of challenge to the individual, so this week will be open to both the beginner and experienced student.

There will be two yoga sessions each day; the morning session will be more dynamic, developing sequences and be vinyasa in approach (working towards a key or a series of key postures); whilst the late afternoon session will focus on a deeper practice, with breathing, mantra, meditation and relaxation.

Julie holds a teaching Diploma with the British Wheel of Yoga. She teaches yoga to adults and teenagers in East Sussex practising in the community, within schools and the workplace.
